Reminiscing for the Nostalgic

"The world is full of people whose notion of a satisfactory future is, in fact, a return to the idealized past." - Robertson Davies, A Voice from the Attic

I'm Kelly; lover of the 1940s, Gene Kelly, and Jesus. This blog is devoted to early 20th Century history, period dramas, Doctor Who, and my sexy French lover, Jean Dujardin.

Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra singing “If You Knew Susie,” in the musical Anchors Aweigh.

They’re trying to trick this guy into leaving the girl they like alone. The Navy/Marine uniforms with sailor collars look amazing on them, especially Gene.

Gene is the reason I have a thing for sailors.

idlesuperstar:

There are lots of reasons why this film is a sheer delight. Gene Kelly in his underthings is just one of them.

That grin…oh Gene, what you do to me….

Yay! A new photo! Gene had the best smile. THE BEST.

Anchors Aweigh is my new favorite movie and Gene Kelly leaves me breathless.
*le sigh*

These words could’ve come from my mouth.

I think this was when Gene still liked Esther and thought she was an American Beauty - boy, that didn’t last…..*lol*

Oh my goodness. I’ve never seen this one before. If only I could’ve been a fly on the wall……
